Philippine Army Sergeant Major Command Sergeant Major Marvin Jurane visited the Philippine Military Academy to strengthen morale, discipline and leadership guidance among Army enlisted personnel assigned to one of the country’s key military training institutions.
Jurane met with enlisted personnel at Fort del Pilar on Tuesday, June 9, during a Troops Information and Education and Talk to Troops activity aimed at reinforcing command policies, professional standards and the welfare of personnel serving at the academy.
He was welcomed by PMA’s senior enlisted leaders led by Senior Master Sergeant Charles Bumanglag, Command Sergeant Major of the academy.
During the engagement, Jurane reiterated directives from higher headquarters and reminded the troops to uphold excellence, professionalism and discipline in carrying out their duties.
He also emphasized the importance of prayer, physical fitness and personal readiness, saying these remain essential foundations of military service.
The visit highlighted the Philippine Army’s continuing efforts to ensure that personnel assigned outside regular line units, including those serving in training institutions such as PMA, remain properly guided, supported and mission-focused.
It also underscored the importance of maintaining close supervision over enlisted personnel who perform critical support functions in the academy’s day-to-day operations.
PMA said its enlisted corps plays a vital role in sustaining the academy’s mission, providing support in administration, security, logistics and training operations.
Their work directly contributes to the training, welfare and development of cadets who are being prepared to become future officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Through the engagement, the Philippine Army reaffirmed its commitment to the morale, welfare and discipline of its enlisted personnel, particularly those serving in institutions central to military education and leadership development.
