Makati police arrested a high-value individual and three alleged accomplices after authorities seized about P408,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Olympia on Saturday night.

The Makati City Police Station said the operation was conducted at around 8:40 pm on July 4 along Zapote Street.

Police identified the arrested high-value individual only by the alias “Wewel,” 46 years old. The three other suspects, tagged as street-level individuals, were identified by their aliases “JP,” 41 years old; “Azur,” 44 years old; and “Demonyo,” 36 years old.

Authorities said a police poseur-buyer bought P8,000 worth of suspected shabu from the suspects before police moved in to make the arrests.

Recovered during the operation were 19 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing around 60 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of P408,000.

Police also seized the P500 marked money, 15 pieces of P500 boodle (“budol”) money, and several pouches allegedly used to conceal the illegal drugs.

The suspects are facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police said the suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and brought to a hospital for medical examination. The seized drug evidence was turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for laboratory analysis.

Makati City Police Chief Col. Pedro Alagano Jr. commended the operating team, saying the successful operation reflected the police force’s continued commitment to keeping the city’s streets safe from illegal drugs.
