After months of speculation from fans, Alexa Ilacad has confirmed that KDLex, her longtime pairing with KD Estrada, has officially come to an end.
The announcement was made through fandom group KDLex International Sweethearts and later reposted by Alexa on her social media accounts, where she thanked supporters who followed the pair from their Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10 days to their rise as one of ABS-CBN’s younger love teams.
“I am truly grateful to all the Sweethearts — more than you will ever know,” Alexa wrote, thanking fans for “the sacrifices, the heartaches, the laughter, and all the beautiful memories and bondings” shared over the years.
The statement from the fandom group described the separation as a mutual decision shaped by “circumstances, external factors, and the people surrounding them,” while emphasizing that both Alexa and KD continue to have respect and care for each other.
For followers of the pair, the confirmation did not exactly come as a surprise.
Over the past year, fans had noticed a visible slowdown in joint appearances, online interactions, and collaborative projects between the two. While neither camp publicly acknowledged problems, longtime supporters began speculating that management directions and individual career priorities were gradually moving them onto separate paths.
Industry observers had also noted that both artists were increasingly being positioned independently.
Alexa has quietly expanded her work outside the love team setup, taking on more acting, hosting, and digital projects that leaned into her individual identity rather than tandem branding. KD, meanwhile, continued building his music career while also being paired with different actors in select projects and public appearances.
