The city government of Manila has started distributing city-funded allowances to thousands of beneficiaries, with a total allocation of P688.9 million.
The beneficiaries include police officers, public school teachers, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) personnel, firefighters, Grade 12 students of DepEd Manila, solo parents, persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, and students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), Universidad de Manila (UDM), and Eulogio ”Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST).
According to the city government, the total amount for distribution is P688,901,100, which includes P77.79 million from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) allotted for the social pension of qualified senior citizens.
The city said the assistance forms part of its continuing efforts to provide financial support to residents, students, and frontline personnel through various social welfare and education programs.
