The Quezon City Jail is prepared to receive Senator Rodante Marcoleta following his arrest in connection with a plunder case, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said Monday.
BJMP spokesperson Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera said the facility could accept Marcoleta once the court issues the required commitment order.
“The BJMP is always ready. As long as there is a commitment order from the court, any PDL (person deprived of liberty) will be accepted by the BJMP,” Bustinera said.
“The facility is prepared. As long as there is a commitment order, the BJMP is ready to accept,” he added.
Bustinera said the Quezon City Jail currently houses more than 3,000 PDLs.
Among those detained at the facility are Senator Jinggoy Estrada, former Senator Bong Revilla, and public works officials who were arrested in connection with alleged anomalous flood control projects.
