Two men were arrested after allegedly breaking into a residential property in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Quezon City, police said.

According to the Masambong Police Station, authorities responded to a report from the homeowner, businessman Tyrone Chua, who monitored the incident through CCTV footage.

Chua said he first saw one of the suspects enter his home at around 3:00 a.m. on May 1 while he was away. He briefly returned to secure the main entrance before leaving again. Later that day, at around 7:00 p.m., he observed the same suspect returning with an accomplice, entering the house through an opening intended for an air conditioning unit.

He then alerted authorities, who responded within minutes.

Police said the suspects took a laptop, a camera, one CCTV unit, and a cellphone charger, with a total estimated value of ₱146,700.

The two men were arrested inside the house after attempting to hide in one of the rooms. However, the stolen items were not recovered.

Investigators said the suspects have prior records involving theft, illegal drug use, and illegal gambling.

The suspects allegedly admitted to the crime, citing financial need as their motive.

They are currently detained at the Masambong Police Station and are facing robbery charges.
