Manila police arrested the second suspect in the Sta. Mesa “salisi” theft where a bag containing more than ₱100,000 in cash was stolen on June 23.
The suspect was identified as Hercules de Los Santos, 20, who was arrested at his residence in Pasig City days after authorities caught his uncle and alleged accomplice, Alvin Ebuenga.
Police said both men were seen on CCTV taking the victim’s bag during the theft-by-distraction incident.
“Nakuhanan na po. Etong si Hercules,” Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said, confirming the suspect’s arrest.
According to Manila Police District Director Police Brigadier General Arnold Santiago, De Los Santos is facing several theft cases in other areas.
Moreno said the city government and the MPD will continue going after suspects involved in theft and other crimes in Manila.
“Ang pulisya po ng Maynila kasama ang Manila Police District ay habulin, hanapin, papagharapin natin sa mata ng batas,” he said.
The mayor also warned criminals against targeting the city.
