Two individuals were arrested in a law enforcement operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in San Pablo City, Laguna on June 18, 2026, for their alleged involvement in the illegal sale, refilling, possession, and distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit 4A carried out the operation in Barangay San Ignacio, targeting an illegal LPG refilling activity involving cylinders bearing a registered trademark.
The operation resulted in the seizure of assorted LPG cylinders, both filled and empty, decanting equipment, a weighing scale, and a truck tractor with trailer loaded with an estimated 19 tons of LPG. The total value of confiscated items was placed at around P8.2 million.
The arrested suspects and recovered evidence are now under the custody of the operating unit for documentation and legal proceedings.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating unit for the swift and coordinated action, saying the operation reflects the agency’s continued drive to protect consumers and enforce fair trade practices. He added that, in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the PNP continues to intensify operations that safeguard public welfare through stronger law enforcement presence on the ground.
The operation aligns with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which promotes proactive, intelligence-driven, and responsive policing across all regions of the country.
“Patuloy po nating paiigtingin ang ating mga operasyon para matiyak na ligtas at protektado ang ating mga mamimili at komunidad,” Nartatez said. “Ang ating layunin ay serbisyong totoo at ramdam ng bawat Pilipino.”
The PNP said follow-up operations are underway to identify and locate other possible suspects and determine the full extent of the illegal activity, while reminding business operators to comply with government regulations to ensure safety and accountability.
The agency reiterated its commitment to “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,” emphasizing a more responsive and accountable police service.
