The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) arrested a top wanted person facing a carnapping case during an intelligence-driven operation in Carmona, Cavite.
The PNP-HPG said the suspect, listed as the Top 2 Most Wanted Person under its H2 Target List, was arrested on June 4, 2026 in Barangay Bancal by personnel of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team Batangas under Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A.
Authorities said the arrest was carried out based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 101 in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10883, or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.
The warrant, dated May 5, 2026, was issued in connection with Criminal Case No. 26-8119-SRCL. The court recommended bail of P300,000 for the accused’s temporary liberty.
After the arrest, the suspect was brought to PHPT Batangas for documentation and legal processing before the warrant was returned to the issuing court.
PNP-HPG Director Police Brig. Gen. Rommel Batangan commended the operating team for the successful implementation of the court order.
“The arrest of wanted persons through intelligence-driven operations demonstrates our determination to support the administration of justice and ensure that individuals facing criminal charges are brought before the courts through lawful means,” Batangan said.
The HPG said it will continue to pursue wanted persons and intensify operations against carnapping and other motor vehicle-related crimes.
