The Philippine National Police confirmed that former Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan has been granted hospital arrest under a resolution issued by the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division.
The PNP said Bonoan is currently receiving medical care in a private hospital, where he has undergone diagnostic procedures as part of his continuing medical management.
Once cleared by his attending physician, the PNP said arrangements will be made for his transfer to the PNP General Hospital, which is equipped to provide specialized medical monitoring and custodial care.
The police organization said it is strictly enforcing the court’s directive and has already put in place the necessary security and custodial measures to ensure compliance with the conditions set by the Sandiganbayan.
All matters related to Bonoan’s confinement and transfer will remain subject to the orders and authority of the anti-graft court.
The PNP assured the public that it remains committed to enforcing lawful court orders while ensuring the safety, security, and welfare of persons under its custody.
