PNP: No Formal Communication on Alleged ICC Warrants

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it has not received any official communication, documentation, or directive regarding alleged arrest warrants reportedly issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against certain individuals.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the organization will act only on verified and formally transmitted documents from competent authorities.

“As of this time, the PNP has not received any official communication, documentation, or directive from any government agency regarding the alleged ICC warrants. We rely on formal processes and verified information, not speculation or social media posts,” Nartatez said.

The statement follows circulating social media claims alleging that warrants had already been issued against a lawmaker and two former police officials.

Nartatez said no instructions have been issued to police units to monitor or track any individuals in relation to the reports.

He added that police personnel have been reminded to adhere strictly to established procedures and remain guided by due process and the rule of law, in line with directives from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. through the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

The PNP said it continues to coordinate with the DILG, Department of Justice, National Bureau of Investigation, and Bureau of Immigration for situational awareness, but emphasized that any enforcement action must be based on legitimate and properly served legal orders.

“The PNP will perform its mandate in accordance with the Constitution, existing laws, and established procedures. We will neither preempt the process nor neglect our responsibilities,” Nartatez said.
