3 ‘Termite Gang’ Members Nabbed in Iloilo Drug Sting; Over P6.9M Shabu Seized

Three individuals allegedly linked to a mobile criminal group known as the “Termite Gang” were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Iloilo City on June 16, 2026, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

Operatives of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group–Special Operations Unit 6, together with Iloilo City Police Station 10 and the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group–Visayas, conducted the operation in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao District.

Authorities seized more than one kilogram, or about 1,020 grams, of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of ₱6.936 million.

The suspects were identified through aliases as “JR,” “RJ,” and “Alog,” also known as “Foreman.” Police said two of the suspects are siblings, while validation is ongoing on their alleged links to drug distribution activities extending to Metro Manila.

All recovered evidence was turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 6 for examination, while charges under Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operation, citing inter-unit coordination and sustained intelligence work.

“Ang tagumpay ng operasyon na ito ay resulta ng tuloy-tuloy na intelligence build-up at maayos na koordinasyon ng ating mga units. We will not allow these groups to establish foothold in our communities. Tuloy-tuloy ang ating operasyon, at mas paiigtingin pa natin ang presensya ng PNP sa lahat ng rehiyon,” the Chief PNP said.

He added that under the PNP Focused Agenda and the Enhanced Managing Police Operations framework, field units are directed to sustain intelligence-driven operations against drug syndicates and organized criminal groups.

The PNP also credited community reports for helping build the case, saying public cooperation remains vital in ongoing anti-drug campaigns.
