The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported 10 additional deaths from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Sarangani on June 8, pushing the total fatalities to 78.
All additional fatalities were recorded in the Davao Region, bringing its death toll to 21. The remaining 57 deaths were reported in Soccsksargen, the hardest-hit area.
Authorities said 30 individuals remain missing—17 in Soccsksargen and 13 in the Davao Region.
Injuries have reached 1,339, including 1,259 in Soccsksargen and 79 in Davao Region.
The disaster has affected 346,413 families or 1,414,752 individuals across 573 barangays in Soccsksargen, Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
NDRRMC data also showed that 4,449 families or 18,504 individuals are currently staying in 45 evacuation centers as displacement continues in quake-hit areas.
