Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has ordered all police units nationwide to go on full alert amid the ongoing Iglesia ni Cristo emergency rally.
The PNP earlier said the full alert status would only cover the National Capital Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, national support units, and Camp Crame-based offices.
In a later briefing, PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co said Nartatez expanded the order to cover all police units across the country.
“The Chief PNP has ordered all our police units nationwide to be on full alert status,” Co said.
“This is to prevent any untoward incident in all our areas within the country,” he added.
