PNP Arrests Two Active Personnel in Separate Quezon City, Davao Ops

The Philippine National Police (PNP) served separate warrants of arrest against two active personnel in coordinated operations in Quezon City and Davao del Norte on June 20, 2026, underscoring ongoing internal accountability efforts within the organization.

In Quezon City, operatives of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) National Capital Region Cluster 2, together with intelligence and investigative units, implemented a warrant at a hotel along Don A. Roces Avenue in Barangay Paligsahan in the mid-afternoon.

The warrant, issued by the Regional Trial Court in Taguig City, carries no bail recommendation. The arrested suspect, a Police Staff Sergeant assigned to the Presidential Security and Protection Group, was brought to the IMEG Investigation and Detective Division for documentation prior to turnover to custodial authorities.

Authorities said the subject had previously been placed under monitoring based on validated information as part of internal integrity and accountability mechanisms.

In a separate operation in Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte, joint elements of IMEG Team 11, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Regional Intelligence Unit, and local police units served warrants against a Patrolman assigned to Police Regional Office 11.

The warrants, issued by a Family Court in the Eleventh Judicial Region, stem from alleged violations of Republic Act 9262, with bail recommended by the court.

The suspect was informed of the charges and apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he understood. He is currently under the custody of the Sto. Tomas Municipal Police Station for documentation and turnover to judicial authorities.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the operations reflect the organization’s commitment to discipline and equal accountability across all ranks.

“Sa PNP, pantay-pantay ang batas para sa lahat. We act decisively when warrants are issued and a legal basis is present,” Nartatez said.

He added that the enforcement actions are aligned with ongoing reforms under the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly efforts to strengthen internal accountability and public trust.

The PNP assured that it will continue to enforce discipline within its ranks while observing due process, human rights, and the rule of law.
