QCPD Releases Photos of Suspects in Deadly EDSA–Timog Shooting; Manhunt Intensified

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has released photos of suspects in the fatal shooting along EDSA–Timog as authorities intensify efforts to track them down.

In a press briefing, QCPD Station 10 commander Police Lt. Col. Zachary Capellan presented images of the suspects before and after the attack, which left two men dead.

Police said the incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. when two assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on a white vehicle carrying a 75-year-old businessman and his 51-year-old driver. Both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at a nearby hospital.

CCTV footage showed the suspects fleeing on their motorcycle, which was later found abandoned along Scout Rallos in Barangay Sacred Heart, Quezon City. Helmets, masks, and other items believed used in the crime were also recovered.

Investigators said the suspects changed clothes after abandoning the motorcycle and were seen walking along Scout Ybardolaza, Timog, Scout Torillo, and Scout Borromeo. They later boarded a tricycle toward Quezon Avenue before transferring to a passenger jeepney.

Capellan said the investigation initially faced challenges due to the lack of witnesses.

“Wala po kaagad tayong makuhang saksi maliban sa dalawang MMDA traffic enforcers na naka-duty sa lugar,” he said, adding that police are relying on their statements.

Authorities also found that the motorcycle bore an MV file number that did not match its registration, suggesting it may have been cloned or falsified.

At least 12 pieces of ballistic evidence were recovered from the scene.

Police are looking into the possibility that the attack was premeditated, citing indications the victims may have been under surveillance prior to the shooting.

A special investigation task group has been formed to identify and arrest the suspects. The QCPD urged the public to report any information through its hotlines, assuring informants of confidentiality.

“The Quezon City Police District continues to intensify its manhunt operations to bring the perpetrators to justice,” the QCPD said.
