The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) conducted a large-scale cleanup and flushing operation along Levi Mariano near Samaca 2 and Virita Street in Barangay Calzada Tipas to remove piles of garbage, scrap wood, and debris that had accumulated in the area.
According to the MMDA, the operation was carried out by its Metro Parkways Clearing Group to address potential health hazards and eliminate foul odors caused by the waste buildup.
Personnel hauled away debris and scrap wood and washed the roadway to ensure the safety and convenience of residents and motorists passing through the area.
The agency said the cleanup effort forms part of its continuing initiatives to maintain cleanliness in public spaces, prevent the spread of diseases, and reduce the risk of flooding caused by improperly disposed waste.
The MMDA also reminded the public to practice proper waste disposal and refrain from throwing garbage indiscriminately, emphasizing that community cooperation is essential in keeping neighborhoods clean, healthy, and flood-free.
