President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday called on the newly promoted flag officers of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to maintain the highest standards of integrity, lead by example, and keep the interest of the nation at the heart of their service.
The Chief Executive issued the charge during the formal oath-taking ceremony at Malacañang Palace for 21 newly promoted PCG flag officers, comprising one vice admiral, two rear admirals and 18 commodores.
Addressing the leadership core of the country’s maritime law enforcement and search-and-rescue service, President Marcos highlighted the evolving challenges facing the nation’s seas and the critical role of strong leadership.
“So, to our newly promoted flag officers, lead by example. Uphold the highest standards of integrity. Prepare the next generation of Coast Guard leaders. Embrace innovation and modernization. Strengthen the partnerships that allow us to address challenges that no institution can tackle alone,” President Marcos said.
He emphasized that promotion comes with elevated responsibility, urging the senior officers to stay anchored to their core mission and the public trust placed in them.
“Serve in a way that honors the oath that you took today. Lead with courage and integrity. Always remember whom you serve. Ang bawat paglalayag at bawat pagbabantay ay para sa sambayanang Pilipino (Every voyage and every watch is for the Filipino people),” the President added.

- Vice Admiral: Rommel Supangan
- Rear Admirals: John Esplana and Marco Antonio Gines
- Commodores: PCG Spokeswoman Noemie Cayabyab, Jane Gesulgon, Jonathan Marfil, Glen Daraug, Lejanie Dy, Jerome Cayabyab, Jimmy Naisod, Joselito Maluyo, Julian Bayawa Jr., Dann August Cariño, Richard Paragas, Cynthia Esquivias, Jose Mari Cucharo, Rolando Lorenzana, Laurel Paul Mariano Jr., Eliezer Dalnay, Eric Ferrancullo and Lawrence Roque.
The promotion of these top officials comes as the PCG continues to expand its operational capabilities and presence across the Philippine archipelago and its exclusive economic zone, playing a pivotal role in maritime security, environmental protection and safeguarding fishermen.
