M1ss Jade So started with a goat.
For “Wildlife Couture” week on Drag Race Down Under vs. The World, the Filipino drag performer developed the idea into a Baphomet-inspired runway look — complete with horns, references to duality, and Jade’s own mix of glamour and grotesque.
The look earned her a RuBadge, her third of the season heading into the semifinals.
That same week, Jade released “BAPHOMETA” under Offshore Music, continuing a run of singles tied closely to the visual concepts she brings to drag.
Produced with longtime collaborator Naive Supreme, the track follows “Power Top na Bratzy” in 2024, “ESOTERICA” earlier this year, and “GODDESSA.”
For Jade, the Baphomet reference was connected to the idea of opposing identities existing in the same figure.
“That felt very connected to my own experience as a drag artist, where I constantly play with identity, beauty, and transformation,” Jade said.
The song was co-written with Pette Shabu.
Rather than treating the concept purely as dark or threatening, Jade said they wanted the track to carry a more playful kind of chaos.
“We wanted it to have this mad, destructive but almost playful energy,” Jade said, “where you’re having fun with something that is actually quite dark underneath.”
“BAPHOMETA” arrives while Jade is competing on Drag Race Down Under vs. The World, where she has recorded multiple Top 2 finishes and three RuBadges heading into the semifinals.
The competition carries an AUD$50,000 prize and the title “Queen of the Mothertucking World.”
The release also extends Jade’s practice of pairing her drag performances with original music, turning runway concepts into material that continues beyond the episode itself.
“BAPHOMETA” is now available on streaming platforms.
A music video watch party will be held on September 5 at Hoesik in Makati.
