Makati police arrested two street-level individuals and seized suspected shabu, a firearm, ammunition, and illegal gambling items during a swift anti-criminality operation in Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo late Tuesday night.

The Makati City Police Station said personnel of Guadalupe Nuevo Sub-Station 7, led by Police Maj. Judge Rowe Donato, under the leadership of Makati police chief Police Col. Pedro Alagano Jr., conducted the operation at Gov. Noble Street corner Buenconsejo Street at around 11:55 pm on May 19, 2026.

According to police, officers were conducting an anti-criminality patrol when a concerned citizen reported an ongoing illegal gambling activity in the area. Responding authorities proceeded to the location and allegedly saw a group of people in plain view playing “Cara y Cruz” with bet money.

As the officers approached, the group reportedly ran in different directions, prompting a brief chase. Police later apprehended two suspects identified only by their aliases “Mark” and “Melrick,” both of legal age, while the others managed to escape.

During a body search, police said they recovered from “Mark” bet money amounting to P470 in different denominations, one small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.3 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P2,040, and one .22 Magnum caliber Black Widow revolver loaded with three .22 caliber live ammunition.

Authorities also recovered from “Melrick” bet money amounting to P530 in different denominations, along with gambling paraphernalia, including three one-peso coins allegedly used as a flipper.

The two suspects are now detained at the Makati CPS Custodial Facility Unit. Complaints are being prepared against them for alleged violations of Presidential Decree 1602, or illegal gambling activities; Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002; and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
