The impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte enters a pivotal phase this week as House prosecutors begin presenting core financial witnesses and authenticated banking records before the trial court.
Legal representatives confirmed that investigators, financial analysts, and official custodians of state records will testify directly under oath.
“This phase of the proceedings will focus strictly on verifiable documentary evidence, audit logs, and accounting records,” trial prosecutors said.
The upcoming testimonies aim to address questions raised regarding public fund allocations, financial disclosures, and the administration of discretionary accounts.
Trial managers also said presenting primary financial examiners will ensure that the court receives direct accounts of all contested transactions.
House prosecutors expressed confidence that the scheduled expert testimony will provide clarity and uphold full transparency throughout the remainder of the trial proceedings.
