The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) received the project proposal for the Heart of the Chef Culinary and Hospitality Centre (HCCHC), an initiative aimed at developing world-class Filipino chefs while promoting authentic regional cuisine and the use of locally sourced ingredients.
During the meeting, discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen the country’s culinary and hospitality sector through collaboration. The proposed initiative seeks to enhance the skills of Filipino culinary professionals, preserve the country’s rich food heritage, and showcase regional dishes to both local and international audiences.
The proposal also aims to support local food enterprises by encouraging the use of Philippine-grown ingredients and creating greater opportunities for farmers, food producers, and small businesses within the culinary value chain.
Through the initiative, DTI and its partners seek to promote Filipino cuisine as a key driver of tourism, entrepreneurship, and economic growth while helping elevate the country’s culinary industry on the global stage.
