Personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group assisted three people injured in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a bicycle in Cubao, Quezon City.
The accident occurred along 20th Avenue in Barangay San Roque at around 7:35 a.m. on July 9, 2026.
According to a report received by CIDG Director Police Major General Robert Morico II, members of the Major Crimes Investigation Unit were passing through the area when they saw the recently occurred crash.
The CIDG personnel were identified as Police Captain Amron Saidamen, Police Lieutenant Mary Ann Meca, and Police Staff Sergeant Benedicto An.
Despite being on official duty, the officers immediately assisted the victims, secured the accident scene, and managed traffic to prevent further danger.
They also coordinated with emergency responders to ensure that the injured individuals received immediate medical attention.
Personnel from the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Quezon City Police District Station 7 later arrived at the scene.
The victims were given first aid before being transported to the nearest hospital for further medical examination and treatment.
The CIDG commended the MCIU personnel, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Michael Odejerte, for their swift response and assistance.
Morico said the incident showed that police work extends beyond crime prevention and investigation, and includes protecting lives and helping people during emergencies.
He said the police badge represents “honor, compassion, and sacrifice.”
