Cavite Drug Bust Yields P61.2M Shabu, 4 Suspects Arrested

Authorities arrested four suspected drug personalities and seized over P61 million worth of suspected shabu in a joint anti-narcotics operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in General Trias, Cavite.

The operation, carried out on May 3 in Barangay Bacao 1, targeted an alleged drug transaction, with PDEA leading the effort and supported by PNP maritime, provincial, and local police units. Law enforcers recovered around 9,000 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P61.2 million.

Also confiscated during the operation were marked money, identification cards, communication devices, and a vehicle believed to have been used in the illegal activity.

The four suspects are now in custody and are set to face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the coordinated efforts of the operatives, emphasizing that strong inter-agency collaboration is vital in dismantling drug networks.

“Ang tagumpay ng operasyong ito ay bunga ng maayos na ugnayan at mabilis na aksyon ng ating mga operatiba,” Nartatez said, adding that authorities remain focused not only on arresting offenders but also on cutting off the supply chain of illegal drugs.

He noted that the operation aligns with the PNP’s intensified anti-crime campaign under the administration’s directive to curb illegal drugs nationwide.

Authorities said follow-up investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the seized drugs and identify other individuals possibly linked to the operation, as part of efforts to prevent further distribution in the region.
