The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday welcomed the latest survey results showing strong public trust and satisfaction in the military, describing the ratings as both an honor and a challenge to further improve its service.

AFP spokesperson Francel Margareth Padilla said the military remains grateful for the confidence shown by Filipinos following the release of the latest OCTA Research survey.

The poll showed the AFP receiving a 72 percent trust rating and a 70 percent performance rating nationwide.

“These are really very good numbers for us,” Padilla said during a press briefing at Camp Aguinaldo.

She said the military recognizes the importance of preserving the public’s confidence and vowed that the institution would continue working to maintain professionalism and reliability in carrying out its mandate.

“We will not destroy the trust that the people have given us. And we are grateful for this trust,” Padilla said.

According to the AFP spokesperson, the favorable survey results would further motivate the military organization to improve its performance in protecting the country and serving the public.

Padilla added that the trust expressed by Filipinos strengthens the AFP’s resolve to fulfill its duties amid evolving national security and humanitarian challenges.
