The Philippine National Police arrested two high-value fugitives wanted for murder in separate operations in Benguet and Sulu.
In Barangay Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet, police apprehended an adult Filipino man identified as the No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person in the area.
Personnel from the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, Benguet Police Provincial Office, Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Mt. Province Provincial Field Unit carried out the operation through a valid warrant of arrest.
The suspect was wanted in connection with a murder case for which no bail was recommended. He is now in the custody of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, authorities arrested another adult Filipino man in Barangay Guimba Lagasan, Parang, Sulu. He was listed as the No. 8 Regional Most Wanted Person in the area and was also facing a murder charge.
The operation was conducted by personnel from the CIDG Sulu Provincial Field Unit, Parang Municipal Police Station, Sulu Police Provincial Office, the PNP Special Action Force’s 54th Special Action Company, and the Philippine Army’s 41st Infantry Battalion.
The suspect was served a valid arrest warrant in connection with the case, with no bail recommended. He is now in the custody of the CIDG Sulu Provincial Field Unit.
