Makati police arrested a station-level Most Wanted Person accused of large-scale illegal recruitment during a warrant operation in Manila.
The Makati City Police Station said the accused, identified only through the alias “Teresa,” was apprehended at around 11:30 am in Sta. Ana, Manila.
Police said “Teresa” was listed as the Top 6 Most Wanted Person at the station level for April 2025.
Operatives of the Makati Police Warrant and Subpoena Unit, together with Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) personnel, served a warrant of arrest against the accused for large-scale illegal recruitment.
The warrant was issued by Hon. Maricris Pahate-Felix, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 133 in Makati City, under Criminal Case No. R-MKT-16-01244-CR. It was issued on February 14, 2023, with no recommended bail.
The case was filed for violation of Section 6 of Republic Act 8042, as amended by Section 5 of Republic Act 10022 or the Migrant Workers Act.
During the operation, police said two Alternative Recording Devices were used in compliance with the Rules on the Use of Body-Worn Cameras in the Execution of Warrants under A.M. No. 21-06-08-SC.
Authorities said the accused was informed of the nature of her arrest and apprised of her constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine.
She is currently detained at the custodial facility of the Makati City Police Station while awaiting a commitment order from the court of origin.
