President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared special non-working days in two municipalities in Benguet and Capiz to allow residents to celebrate key local events.
Malacañang said the President signed two proclamations on March 4 designating special non-working days in the municipalities of Buguias and Mambusao.
Under Proclamation No. 1180, March 6 was declared a special non-working day in Buguias as the town celebrates its annual Carrot Festival.
The proclamation said it was “fitting and proper” to give residents the opportunity to fully participate in the festivities honoring the municipality’s vegetable industry.
The Carrot Festival is one of the most anticipated events in the town, highlighting Buguias’ role as a major vegetable-producing area in Benguet.
Meanwhile, Proclamation No. 1181 declared March 26 as a special non-working day in Mambusao for the municipality’s founding anniversary.
Although the anniversary falls on March 29, which is a Sunday, the town’s Sangguniang Bayan requested that the observance be moved earlier.
Malacañang said the adjustment would allow residents to take part more actively in the town’s commemorative activities.
