President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will welcome President Karol Nawrocki of the Republic of Poland for a state visit from October 5 to 8, 2026, marking the first time a Polish head of state will visit the Philippines.
The landmark visit highlights the growing diplomatic momentum and economic ties between Manila and Warsaw. During their bilateral discussions, President Marcos and President Nawrocki are expected to explore expanding bilateral cooperation across defense and security, trade and investment, agriculture, science and technology, information and communications technology, legal assistance, tourism and cultural exchanges.
The two leaders will also exchange views on pressing regional and international security issues affecting Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
The state visit builds upon key diplomatic milestones achieved between the two nations earlier this year, including the inaugural Philippines-Poland Defense Cooperation Committee meeting held in Warsaw in July 2026, followed by the 7th Philippines-Poland Political Consultations in Manila in September 2026.
Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Poland were established on September 22, 1973. Over the past decade, bilateral engagement has expanded significantly, with Poland emerging as the Philippines’ 28th largest trading partner in 2025. Today, Poland is home to an estimated 25,000 Filipino workers and residents.
The upcoming visit also follows Poland’s formal accession to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC) in July 2026, held during the 50th anniversary TAC commemorations hosted in Manila under the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship.
President Nawrocki’s arrival is expected to usher in a new chapter in Philippines-Poland relations, creating broader frameworks for bilateral trade, defense collaboration and strategic partnership.
