Four individuals were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Quezon City, with authorities seizing more than P866,000 worth of suspected shabu, according to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
In a statement, the QCPD said operatives from the Batasan Police Station (PS 6) and Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) conducted a series of buy-bust and anti-criminality operations that resulted in the confiscation of approximately P866,864 worth of illegal drugs.
The Batasan Police Station identified one of the suspects as “Erlie,” 48 years old, and a resident of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.
Police said PS 6 operatives carried out a buy-bust operation at around 5 pm on May 7 at the suspect’s residence after receiving information from a concerned citizen regarding alleged illegal drug activities. An undercover police officer was able to purchase P2,500 worth of suspected shabu from the suspect before authorities moved in for the arrest.
Recovered from alias “Erlie” were around 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P340,000, a sling bag, a cellular phone, and marked money used in the operation. Authorities also confiscated a .45-caliber pistol loaded with three rounds of live ammunition.
Meanwhile, operatives from the Novaliches Police Station arrested two other suspects identified as alias “Lynyrd,” 37 years old, of Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, and alias “Bryan,” 36 years old, of Barangay 170, Caloocan City.
According to the QCPD, the two were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted at around 8:50 pm on May 7 at the residence of “Lynyrd” in Novaliches. Seized from the suspects were approximately 54.9 grams of suspected shabu worth P373,320, a red pouch, a cellular phone, and buy-bust money.
In a separate operation, the same PS4 personnel arrested alias “Jefferson,” 27 years old, a resident of Barangay San Bartolome, Novaliches, during Oplan Galugad/Bulabog operation at around 10:30 pm on May 6 in Barangay Gulod.
Police recovered approximately 22.58 grams of suspected shabu valued at P153,544 and a cellular phone from the suspect.
The QCPD said background checks revealed that several of the suspects had previous criminal records. “Erlie” previously faced charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. “Jefferson” reportedly had a prior rape case under Republic Act 8353 (Anti–Rape Law of 1997) filed in July 2023.
Meanwhile, “Lynyrd” had a previous drug-related case in July 2021, while “Bryan” previously faced charges for violating Presidential Decree 1602 (Illegal Gambling) in December 2024 and April 2026.
The suspects are set to face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. “Erlie” will also face an additional complaint for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
