Tier One Breaks Silence as Amara Ui Renews Scrutiny Over Payment Concerns

Tier One Entertainment has issued a public statement after streamer Amara Ui tagged the company and its co-founder Tryke Gutierrez in a recent Facebook post.

Last year, Amara and other Filipino content creators, including Sachi Gomez, publicly alleged delays in payments for completed work involving Tier One. Those claims were made by the creators themselves and were not independently established as company-wide nonpayment.

Following Amara’s latest post, Tier One acknowledged that the company had faced difficulties over the past year and said it had undergone restructuring.

“We chose to stay silent not because we were running away from the company’s problems but because we chose to solve matters privately,” the company said.

Tier One also apologized to stakeholders affected by its recent challenges and said it remained committed to fulfilling its obligations.

“To our stakeholders, we would like to apologize for all the people who were affected by our company’s struggles in the past year and rest assured that we are committed in fulfilling the company’s obligations to all of you,” it said.

The statement did not mention Amara, Gomez or any specific creator, and it did not directly address individual payment claims.

Tier One also did not disclose the number or value of any outstanding obligations, if any, or provide a timetable for resolving them.

Gutierrez has not publicly addressed Amara’s latest post.

Founded in 2017 by Gutierrez, Alodia Gosiengfiao and Brian Lim, Tier One built its profile in gaming, esports, talent management and content creation. Gosiengfiao left the company in 2023, citing a “misalignment of values and vision.”

For now, the public record remains limited to Amara’s unexplained tag, the payment concerns previously raised by several creators, and Tier One’s broader statement acknowledging company struggles and restructuring.
