Over 12,000 Pass NAPOLCOM Exams for Entry and Promotion in PNP Ranks

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) announced that 12,372 individuals passed the Philippine National Police Entrance Examination (PNPEE), Promotional Examination (PROMEX), and Police Executive Service Eligibility-Written Examination (PESE-WE) held nationwide on April 19, 2026.

A total of 41,592 examinees took the three exams across various testing centers, yielding an overall passing rate of 29.75 percent.

Of the passers, 9,224 qualified under the PNPEE, making them eligible to apply for entry-level positions in the Philippine National Police (PNP) as Patrolman or Patrolwoman, subject to requirements under Republic Act No. 8551, also known as the “Philippine National Police Reform and Reorganization Act of 1998.”

Meanwhile, 2,969 in-service police officers passed the PROMEX, qualifying them for promotion to higher ranks within the police organization. In the PESE-WE category, 179 Police Lieutenant Colonels successfully passed the written examination, the first stage in the eligibility process for promotion to third-level executive positions.

The PNPEE is open to qualified civilians with a bachelor’s degree aged 21 to 30, as well as uniformed personnel holding temporary appointments. PROMEX is designed for in-service police officers seeking career advancement, while PESE-WE is intended for senior officers aiming for executive-level promotion within the PNP hierarchy.

NAPOLCOM Commissioner Rafael Vicente Calinisan said the examinations ensure that recruitment and promotions in the police service remain grounded on fairness, competence, and merit.

“Hindi lamang ito pagsusulit para makapasok o ma-promote sa serbisyo. Ito ang paraan upang matiyak na ang bawat pulis ay dumadaan sa patas at makatarungang proseso,” Calinisan said.

The commission said the list of successful examinees is available on its official website, while certificates of eligibility and reports of rating will be sent by mail.

NAPOLCOM reiterated that the regular conduct of the examinations forms part of ongoing police reform efforts aimed at strengthening professionalism and merit-based advancement within the PNP.
