The Armed Forces of the Philippines honored the service and leadership of its 60th Chief of Staff, General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., during a Testimonial Parade and Review rendered by the Philippine Military Academy on July 4, 2026.
The ceremony was held at Borromeo Field in Fort General Gregorio H. Del Pilar, Baguio City, as the Academy paid tribute to Brawner’s 37 years of service and commitment to defending the country and the Filipino people.
Brawner, a member of PMA “Makatao” Class of 1989, was conferred the Outstanding PMA Alumnus Award, or Ulirang Alumnus ng Akademiya, in recognition of his exemplary leadership, dedication to military professionalism, and significant contributions to strengthening the Armed Forces.
The event underscored the continuing bond between the Academy and its graduates, many of whom go on to lead institutions that advance national security.
In his message to the Corps of Cadets, Brawner urged future military leaders to remain steadfast in the face of adversity, serve selflessly, uphold unity, and place their trust in God.
The AFP expressed its deepest gratitude to Brawner for his steadfast leadership and invaluable contributions to the organization, saying his legacy of professionalism, transformational leadership, and faithful service will continue to inspire future generations of military leaders.
