The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Medical Service marked its 128th founding anniversary on June 24 in a ceremony highlighting its continued role in strengthening military health security and supporting operational readiness across the armed forces.
This year’s celebration carried the theme “Empowerment on the AFP Health Security: Ensuring Responsiveness to Sustainment to Joint Operations,” underscoring the unit’s focus on sustaining medical support systems for personnel engaged in joint and field operations nationwide.
The ceremony was led by AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. and AFP Surgeon General Brig. Gen. Fatima Claire Navarro, who recognized the Medical Service’s long-standing contribution to troop welfare, force readiness, and mission support.
Officials said the Medical Service remains central to the AFP’s operational effectiveness, providing healthcare services that ensure soldiers and other uniformed personnel are medically prepared for deployment and sustained operations.
As it reaches over a century of service, the AFP Medical Service continues to expand its capabilities and modernize its systems to meet evolving health security demands within military operations, reinforcing its role in national defense support.
