The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) formally opened its new satellite office in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte, located inside the Kauswagan International Organic Convention Center, as part of the bureau’s expansion of frontline government services across Northern Mindanao.
NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag led the official inauguration ceremony on June 10, 2026, and was joined by other bureau officials, Kauswagan Vice Mayor Rommel Arnado, and Commanders Mujstaba Macapaar and Aleem Ansari Murad of the Arms-to-Farms Program of the municipality.
“The establishment of the satellite office is a testament to the Bureau’s dedication to making NBI services more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the public,” Director Matibag said.
Local leaders said that the NBI satellite office will significantly cut down travel time and transportation costs for everyday citizens when availing essential NBI services, particularly the processing of NBI Clearances and the accommodation of complaints, inquiries, and other matters requiring the Bureau’s assistance.
