Army Trains 503 CAFGU Auxiliaries To Boost Defense Readiness In Davao Region

The Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry Division has started training 503 Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit Active Auxiliaries in Mawab, Davao de Oro, as part of efforts to strengthen territorial defense and sustain peace gains in Southeastern Mindanao.

The 45-day training, which began on June 30, 2026, is being conducted at the 10th Division Training School in Mawab.

The program is designed to improve the military skills, discipline, and operational readiness of CAFGU Active Auxiliaries who will support the division’s territorial security and sustainment operations.

Upon completing the course, qualified auxiliaries may be deployed to patrol bases in coastal areas and other strategic locations.

They are expected to support the Philippine Army’s Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Operations and Territorial Defense Operations while helping maintain peace and security gains in the division’s insurgency-free area of responsibility.

Major General Alvin Luzon, commander of the 10th Infantry Division, said the Army must continue developing a competent and mission-ready auxiliary force as operational demands evolve.

“Well-trained and disciplined CAFGU Active Auxiliaries remain vital partners in sustaining the peace and security gains we have achieved. Through this training, we continue to build a capable and mission-ready force committed to serving our communities and protecting our people,” Luzon said.

The 10th Infantry Division said the training is part of its continuing effort to develop capable force multipliers who can support territorial security, secure key installations and patrol bases, assist in sustainment operations, and help implement the Army’s archipelagic defense operations.

The division said the initiative also seeks to preserve the hard-earned peace and stability in Southeastern Mindanao.
