The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) has begun laying the technical groundwork for a major upgrade of its information and communications technology infrastructure as it prepares to expand its cadet population under its long-term growth plan.

The Academy hosted a two-day technical consultation with representatives of ITDC Systems Development Services at Fort General Gregorio H. Del Pilar in Baguio City on May 27 and 28, 2026.

The activity formed part of PMA’s preparations for its Growth Plan, which seeks to increase the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines to at least 2,000 cadets by 2040.

As it plans for a larger cadet population, the PMA said it recognizes the need to strengthen its digital systems to provide cadets with a safer, more secure, and more conducive learning environment aligned with modern military education standards.

Representing ITDC Systems were founder and president Ian Dela Cruz, chief technology officer Gary Escobar, senior project manager for government accounts Orland Kyle Gonzales Jr., and software engineer Jian Luteria.

ITDC Systems is a Philippine-based technology firm that develops secure, scalable, and mission-critical digital systems for public institutions.

During the consultation, the ITDC team worked with Academy officials to assess PMA’s current ICT facilities and identify areas that need improvement as the institution prepares for future expansion.

The discussions covered key technology requirements, including CCTV systems, communications lines, internet connectivity, biometric systems, network services, information security, and other digital tools needed for cadet training, administration, and institutional operations.

PMA said the consultation marked an important step in its long-term modernization efforts.

By planning early for the ICT demands of a larger cadet corps, the Academy aims to improve security, connectivity, and the overall learning environment in support of a stronger and more future-ready military education system.
