The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) seized P78.8 million worth of fake “Monster” merchandise during a series of raids across Metro Manila.
The major crackdown was conducted by agents from NBI-NCR and the Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) on May 15, 2026 after the brand’s legal representative filed a formal complaint and the conduct of extensive surveillance and test-buy operations of the agency which confirmed that local target warehouses were storing and distributing unauthorized goods to smaller markets.
Armed with search warrants from the Regional Trial Court of Manila, the NBI operatives targeted seven different locations in Metro Manila. Five retail stalls inside the busy 168 and 999 shopping malls in Binondo, Manila, and two large storage warehouses hidden in Barangay Maysan, Valenzuela City were raided.
In total, the team confiscated 13,407 pieces of counterfeit products that illegally used the famous trademark. The successful operation completely disrupted a major illegal distribution network in Metro Manila.
