The 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and Joint Task Force Central (6ID/JTFC) have stepped up humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operations in earthquake-hit areas of SOCCSKSARGEN, providing water supply, relief goods, transport support, and security assistance to affected communities.
In Maasim, Sarangani, troops together with the Bureau of Fire Protection and other support units deployed a mobile water purification station in Sitio Linao, Barangay Tinoto, producing about 190 gallons of potable water for around 600 residents. Relief goods from civilian donors were also distributed to displaced families.
Military personnel also assisted in relief distribution activities, including providing security and crowd control during the Iglesia Ni Cristo “Lingap sa Mamamayan” program at the municipal evacuation center in Barangay Colon. Security was likewise maintained in areas affected by damaged infrastructure, including the impassable Kumaba Bridge in Barangay Kanalo.
Across the division’s area of responsibility, troops facilitated the transport and distribution of relief supplies from General Santos City to affected communities, supported PCSO assistance operations, and helped pack relief goods in Tacurong City with local volunteers.
6ID/JTFC said it remains committed to sustained humanitarian support, coordination with LGUs and partner agencies, and ongoing efforts to help restore normalcy in quake-hit communities.
