Being the permanent third wheel in your friend group might be awkward, but Filipino producer Ziv and rising P-pop girl group VVINK are proving that the experience can also make for a catchy pop anthem.
Their latest collaboration, “Trisikulo,” transforms the familiar feeling of watching everyone else fall in love into an upbeat celebration of friendship, romantic longing, and the humor of being single.
At the heart of the song is a question many hopeless romantics have probably asked themselves: “Kailan naman ako?”
Released under Sony Music Entertainment, the track takes its name from a playful comparison between a tricycle’s three wheels and the experience of becoming the extra person in someone else’s romantic journey.
But rather than dwelling on loneliness, the artists embrace the comedy of the situation, delivering a lively pop track that makes the struggles of third-wheeling feel surprisingly fun.
For Ziv, the inspiration was more than just a clever concept. It came directly from his own experiences, with friends and family frequently teasing him about his relationship status.
“I wanted to write about something that genuinely reflects where I am in life right now,” Ziv shared.
“It’s funny because it’s genuinely what’s happening in my life, but at the same time, I realized there aren’t that many songs that talk about the experience of being a third wheel.”
The result is a track that balances lighthearted storytelling with the quiet vulnerability of wanting someone to call your own.
Musically, “Trisikulo” draws from several influences, combining the melodic style of Japanese pop, the energy of J-rock, the polished production of K-pop, and the relatable storytelling associated with Original Pilipino Music.
The collaboration also introduces another dimension to VVINK’s growing presence in the local music industry.
The all-female P-pop group recently earned Best Novelty Recording at the 39th Awit Awards and Pop Song of the Year at the 2026 Filipino Music Awards for “Baduy,” their collaboration with DJ Love and Pio Balbuena.
VVINK is also among the artists featured in Spotify RADAR 2026, an initiative highlighting emerging musical talent.
Despite coming from different musical backgrounds, Ziv and VVINK found an easy creative connection while working on the single.
“One thing that surprised us was how quickly we clicked. We became comfortable working with each other almost immediately, and everything flowed so smoothly that the creative process felt almost effortless,” the group shared.
Behind the song is a songwriting team with connections to some of the Philippines’ most recognizable contemporary pop acts.
Ziv co-wrote “Trisikulo” with Paolo Benjamin Guico of Ben&Ben and Angelika Samantha Ortiz, who previously contributed to BINI’s hit “Pantropiko.”
Ziv also produced the track, with Jacques Jenkins handling the mixing and Luna Tebbs overseeing mastering.
The single follows Ziv’s earlier releases, “Kuryente” and “Walkie Talkie,” as he continues developing his solo music career.
Fans can also look forward to an official music video, which the artists are preparing to release through their respective YouTube channels.
For anyone who has ever been stuck taking photos of a couple, walking behind two people holding hands, or wondering when their own love story will begin, “Trisikulo” offers a playful reminder that being single can still come with a great soundtrack.
Ziv and VVINK’s “Trisikulo” is now available on digital streaming platforms worldwide through Sony Music Entertainment.
