The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested three suspected drug personalities and seized around two kilograms of suspected shabu, valued at approximately ₱13.6 million, during a buy-bust operation in Zamboanga City on Saturday, June 13.
The suspects—alias “Mad”, 54; “Sal”, 70; and “Nik”, 34—were apprehended along with buy-bust money, cellular phones, bags, and other items linked to the illegal transaction.
The operation was conducted by Zamboanga City Police Station 4 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and other units, as part of the PNP’s intensified anti-drug campaign under its Focused Agenda.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. lauded the teams for the successful operation, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to keeping communities safe from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.
“We will not allow illegal drugs to find a foothold in our communities. Every successful operation shows that the PNP remains steadfast in pursuing those involved in illegal activities while ensuring all actions follow the law,” PGen Nartatez said.
The confiscated drugs have been submitted for laboratory examination, while the arrested suspects remain in police custody pending the filing of appropriate charges.
The PNP vowed to continue strengthening intelligence-driven operations and inter-agency cooperation under the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas initiative, aiming to ensure safer, more secure communities nationwide.
