The Philippine National Police arrested 262 wanted persons in Region 1 in June as part of its intensified campaign against individuals with standing warrants.
The arrests were made through sustained law enforcement operations conducted by the Police Regional Office 1 across the Ilocos Region.
Of the total number, 45 were classified as most wanted persons. These included five regional most wanted persons, 11 provincial most wanted persons, eight city most wanted persons, and 21 municipal most wanted persons.
The remaining 217 were other wanted persons arrested in separate police operations across the region.
The PNP said the accomplishment forms part of its continuing efforts under the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens the service of warrants and supports crime prevention initiatives in communities.
The campaign also complements the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to uphold peace and order and enhance public safety nationwide.
PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating units for the successful implementation of the campaign.
“The arrest of wanted persons is an important part of maintaining peace and order in our communities. These operations demonstrate the commitment of our police units to ensure that individuals facing charges are brought before the courts through lawful and professional police action,” said PGen Nartatez.
Nartatez said sustained coordination, intelligence gathering, and community support remain vital in locating individuals with standing warrants and ensuring that justice processes move forward.
