The National Police Commission has welcomed the appointment of Alvin S. Mojica as commissioner representing the civilian sector, following his appointment by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on June 25, 2026.
NAPOLCOM said Mojica, a seasoned public administrator and local governance practitioner, brings decades of public service experience that will help strengthen the Commission’s efforts to promote police professionalism, accountability, and institutional excellence.
For Mojica, the appointment marks the continuation of his service to NAPOLCOM in a higher capacity.
Since October 2024, Mojica has served as Head Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government, who sits as the ex officio chairperson of NAPOLCOM.
In that role, he worked closely with the Commission on matters involving police administration, governance, and public safety until he retired from government service on June 15, 2026.
NAPOLCOM said Mojica’s firsthand knowledge of the Commission’s mandate and reform agenda will be valuable as he joins the NAPOLCOM En Banc, where he will help shape policies and decisions in the exercise of the Commission’s constitutional mandate of administrative control and operational supervision over the Philippine National Police.
NAPOLCOM Commissioner Rafael Vicente R. Calinisan welcomed Mojica’s appointment and expressed confidence that his experience, institutional familiarity, and commitment to public service would help advance the Commission’s reform agenda.

Having worked alongside the Commission for almost two years, nakita niya mismo ang mahalagang papel na ginagampanan ng NAPOLCOM sa pagsusulong ng isang disiplinado, propesyonal, at mapagkakatiwalaang Philippine National Police. Naniniwala ako na ang kanyang karanasan, karunungan, at malasakit sa serbisyo publiko ay lalo pang magpapatibay sa ating mga reporma. Mojica’s appointment completes the composition of the NAPOLCOM En Banc.
The Commission is composed of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Juan Victor C. Remulla as concurrent ex officio chairperson; Commissioner Rafael Vicente R. Calinisan as vice chairperson and executive officer; Commissioners Beatrice Aurora A. Vega-Cancio, Josephus G. Angan, and Alvin S. Mojica as regular commissioners; and PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. as ex officio commissioner.
NAPOLCOM said the Commission reaffirms its commitment to strengthening civilian oversight, advancing institutional reforms, and ensuring a professional, accountable, and service-oriented Philippine National Police.
