The Philippine Military Academy has received a 3D printer from the Philippine Coding Camp to support cadet instruction, faculty research and technology-based training.
Philippine Coding Camp Chief Executive Officer Dr. Gabriel Avelino Sampedro formally turned over the Creality Hi Combo 3D Printer to the PMA Headquarters Academic Group during a visit to Fort General Gregorio H. del Pilar on Thursday, July 9.
The equipment was later installed and calibrated at the PMA Environmental Center and is now ready for use.
Academy personnel also received training on 3D printing and LaTeX software to help them operate the equipment and integrate it into academic activities.
PMA said the printer would be used in Physics, Engineering and Engineering Drawing courses under the Department of Natural Sciences.
The technology will allow cadets to transform engineering drawings into three-dimensional models, providing a more practical approach to developing their design and technical skills.
The equipment will also support faculty research, the production of instructional materials and other innovation projects within the Academy.
PMA said the donation forms part of its efforts to incorporate emerging technologies into military education and prepare cadets for the changing technical demands of service in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
