The Philippine Military Academy joined a regional education workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, as part of its preparations for an ASEAN quality assessment targeted by 2028.
PMA representatives attended the 10th AUN-EQI Workshop on the Outcome-Based Education Ecosystem Approach to Future-Ready Education from July 7 to 10.
The four-day program was organized by the ASEAN University Network and Education Quality International and brought together higher education officials, quality assurance practitioners and academic experts from across Southeast Asia.
Representing the Academy were Lt. Col. Noah Hernandez, Lt. Cmdr. Alfie Agarao and Capt. Romalyn Galingan.
The workshop focused on strengthening outcome-based education through curriculum mapping, measurable learning outcomes, aligned teaching and assessment methods, stakeholder engagement and the use of emerging technologies.
Participants also discussed the use of academic data to improve programs and ensure that graduate competencies match institutional and professional requirements.
PMA said the lessons and practices gained from the workshop would support improvements in its Bachelor of Science in Management major in Security Studies program.
The initiative is also part of the Academy’s preparations for an ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance program assessment by 2028.
PMA said its participation in regional quality assurance programs supports efforts to align its academic standards with internationally recognized practices and prepare cadets for the evolving demands of military service.
