The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) acting inspector general visited the headquarters of the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division and Joint Task Force Orion in Jolo, Sulu, to assess the unit’s operations and engage with troops on the ground.
Brig. Gen. Antero Narcise conducted the inspection on May 29 as part of the AFP’s continuing effort to strengthen readiness, accountability, and personnel welfare across its units.
He was received by Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Cabasan, officer-in-charge of the 11th Infantry Division, along with senior officials of the command.
During the visit, the division presented updates on its organizational structure, operational readiness, mission accomplishments, financial performance, and progress on key targets. Officials also briefed Narcise on concerns affecting the unit’s current operating environment in Sulu.
Narcise later met with officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources staff, listening to concerns and recommendations related to welfare, support systems, and operational needs.
He assured personnel that their concerns would be brought to AFP leadership for appropriate action.
The AFP said the visit forms part of its efforts to maintain responsive leadership, improve internal systems, and ensure that troops are properly supported as they carry out their mission to secure communities and serve the public.
