PLDT Inc. announced on Friday, October 2, 2026, that it has completed the acquisition of the remaining 65.1 percent equity interest in Radius Telecoms Inc. for P2.94 billion, giving the telecommunications titan 100 percent ownership of the connectivity provider.
Following the transaction with Paragon Vertical Corp., a subsidiary of Manila Electric Co.’s (Meralco) e-Meralco Ventures Inc., PLDT now holds full control of the total issued and outstanding capital stock of Radius. PLDT previously held a 34.9 percent minority stake in the fiber operator.
Radius operates an end-to-end fiber optic network stretching over 11,000 kilometers across Mega Manila and neighboring provinces, alongside coverage expansion in Clark and Cebu. The company serves as a key enterprise connectivity provider in Metro Manila, offering Direct Internet Access, global networking and managed cloud solutions, including SD-WAN and zero-trust networking systems.
The acquisition strengthens PLDT’s digital network infrastructure as it reports its latest financial performance. For the first half of the year, PLDT posted a net income of P16.4 billion, down from P17.4 billion recorded in the same period last year.
Gross service revenues edged up 2 percent to P108.7 billion from January to June, while net service revenues, after accounting for interconnect costs, grew 1 percent to P97.8 billion.
Data and broadband services remained the primary growth engine, generating P84 billion or 86 percent of net service revenues, compared to 85 percent in the previous year. Excluding legacy service drags, net service revenues grew by 2 percent.
PLDT’s telco core income stood at P16.6 billion in the first half, supported by Maya’s sustained profitability, which helped offset higher depreciation, amortization and softer operational results.
