The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), as Chair of the ASEAN Energy Regulators Network (AERN), held discussions with the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) on June 18 to align priorities for the network’s 2026–2027 work plan.
The meeting focused on strengthening coordination and ensuring the effective rollout of regional energy initiatives following the approval of AERN’s updated Terms of Reference during its 17th Meeting on June 3, which also designated ACE as the network’s new secretariat.
ERC officials, led by Chairperson and CEO Francis Saturnino C. Juan and Executive Director Nancy Aurora Q. Fajardo, welcomed the delegation headed by ACE Executive Director Razib Dawood and ASEC Director Kanchana Wanichcorn.
The parties discussed ongoing efforts to improve regulatory cooperation among ASEAN member states, with emphasis on energy security, system resilience, and the transition toward more sustainable energy systems in the region.
