The BRP Tausug (LC803) of the Philippine Navy has transported another batch of relief supplies and medical personnel to Balut Island in Sarangani, Davao Occidental, as government humanitarian operations continue in areas affected by the recent earthquake.
On June 13, 2026, the vessel, operating under Naval Task Force 71 of the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, conducted a coordinated mission from San Miguel Port in Malita, where it embarked medical and security personnel before sailing to the island community.
On board were 25 medical personnel from the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Office XI and 20 personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office XI, along with approximately 25 tons of relief goods, medical supplies, and other essential humanitarian cargo intended for quake-affected residents.
The latest deployment followed an earlier delivery of relief assistance and government personnel to the same area, underscoring sustained efforts to reach geographically isolated communities still recovering from the disaster.
Authorities said the mission highlights the continued interagency coordination among the military, health sector, and law enforcement to ensure both humanitarian support and security presence in affected areas.
The Philippine Navy said the operation demonstrates its ongoing commitment to disaster response, particularly in transporting essential personnel and aid to remote communities where access remains limited following the earthquake.
