The Department of Energy (DOE) and the Australian government reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector following a high-level meeting between DOE Secretary Sharon S. Garin and Australian Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Marc Innes-Brown.
The discussions focused on key areas critical to the Philippines’ energy security, including fuel supply developments, diversification strategies, and potential joint initiatives to enhance resilience against supply disruptions. “Strengthening our partnership with Australia is vital for advancing energy security and building resilient supply chains that can withstand global challenges,” Secretary Garin said, noting that continued collaboration will support the Philippines’ transition to a secure and sustainable energy system.
Ambassador Innes-Brown highlighted the longstanding ties between the two nations and expressed commitment to expanding joint programs, technical cooperation, and knowledge exchange in the energy sector.
